A cable pull is installed at a manual workstation. Here, a sleeve protecting against dust is slipped onto the cable pull, and then the nipple is pressed on. Before pressing on, the cable pull must be checked for the presence of the sleeve because later installation is not possible.
The operator inserts the completely assembled cable pull into the device and actuates the pushbutton. To prevent rejects, a vision sensor then checks whether the sleeve is present. If the sleeve is not present, the operator receives an error message, and the process is stopped.
