Wire coil blanks wear out in the course of time and can break or bend, which renders them virtually unusable. A mere visual check for quality control by the user is usually not sufficient.
A very good solution is the use of a Vision Sensor, which checks the coil reliably for breaks and bending. To do so, the Vision Sensor faces the rotating coil at a suitable distance. Based on the edge values of the blank in relation to each other, it is possible to detect whether the coil is still in good order before the wire is wound.
